Artful Spaces

Hanging art in the school, home, and grounds will provide a range of benefits to students, house parents, administrators, and staff personnel – such as boosting moods and mental well-being, the creation of a calming environment, stimulating creativity, and enhancing one’s focus.  The Art curator would be responsible for securing (via donations), cataloging, and placing art around public spaces.  House parents would be responsible for selecting art from the catalog to be placed in the home, while students would select pieces to be hung in their private spaces.

According to the Artwork Archive (May 5th, 2017), art makes a home feel more human, it helps us validate and recognize our emotions, art reminds us of what is possible, and encourages us to be brave.
